Coach Sam
Samantha Kerns started training as a gymnast when
she was 4 years old in Brick Town , New Jersey. By
age six she was a competitive team member.
Samantha trained and competed in gymnastics under
both the USGA and USGF from level 6 through level
10. She was training under the elite qualifications
when she retired at age 16. Samantha Graduated
from Cameron University in Oklahoma, with a Bachelor’
s of Business Degree in both Finance and Trust
Management. Samantha held the position of Head
Team Coach at Fliptastics Gymnastics in Lawton
Oklahoma from 1999 through 2001, where several of
her gymnasts won State & Regional Championships.
Although Samantha’s background is in elite
gymnastics, her strong tumbling background (She still
has her full!) has proven useful with our All-Star cheer
program. She has privately trained many of the local
all-star cheerleaders and is excited to offer her
expertise at Sanford Academy’s PURE FORM.
Samantha is a professional member of the USA
Gymnastics and is safety certified under USA
Gymnastics as well. Samantha has been married to
Robert Kerns for 13 years. Rob is a First Sergeant in
the 82nd Airborne Division and has served three tours
in Afghanistan. They have one daughter, Jordan; who
is a level six team member! In her “spare time”
Samantha endurance runs, and competes in
triathlons.
Samantha has strong beliefs in kids becoming strong,
responsible, independent Adults. Her motto is: “If they’
re in here, than I know they’re not out there!”
